Yankees’ 18 Ks in 9 innings…Baltimore franchise record, Ohtani rival joins them

Fujinami came on as the third pitcher in the sixth inning with a 9-3 lead and pitched two innings into the seventh. He gave up a leadoff double to Anthony Wolfe in the sixth, but struck out Kyle Higashioka and Jake Bowers to get out of the jam. He gave up a leadoff single in the seventh, but got two strikeouts to end the threat.

He was shaky in his first two games since coming to Baltimore from Oakland, allowing three runs in 1⅔ innings, but hasn’t allowed a run since.
