Eredia thigh muscle injury…SSG ’emergency’

Guillermo Heredia (32), a foreign hitter for the SSG Landers of the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO), has been sidelined for up to four weeks.

The SSG organization designated Heredia for assignment and designated outfielder Lee Jung-beom for assignment ahead of their upcoming game against the Lotte Giants on April 4 at Sajik Stadium in Busan.

In SSG’s uniform this year, Heredia is batting .332 (108-for-325) with 11 home runs and 58 RBIs, ranking second in the league.

“Heredia felt discomfort while batting and running in the game against KT WIZ in Suwon the day before (March 3), and according to the diagnosis, he needs about four weeks to recover from a sprain of the front muscle (iliopsoas) of his left thigh,” said an SSG team official.

After battling the LG Twins for the top spot in the first half of the season, the league’s second-ranked SSG has lost three straight games and is now 5.5 games behind first-place LG.

In their recent three-game series against KT, they fell into a serious batting slump, scoring just one run in all three games.

The departure of Heredia, who has been the team’s go-to guy in these situations, will hurt their chase for the lead.메이저사이트

Meanwhile, the Doosan Bears have designated two pitchers, Choi Won-jun and Lee Young-ha, for assignment and added pitcher Lee Byung-heon and outfielder Kim In-tae to the first team.

The Kiwoom Heroes designated veteran infielder Lee Won-seok for assignment and called up starting pitcher Jung Chan-heon to the first team, while the Lotte Giants registered pitcher Jung Sung-jong while expunging pitcher Jin Seung-hyun, who has struggled of late.
