South Korea’s baseball team, led by Ryu Jung-il, will face ‘nemesis’ Chinese Taipei in the same group at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games.
According to the Korean Baseball Softball Association (KBSA), which received the draw from the Hangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee on Wednesday, South Korea will be paired with Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong and the qualifiers in Group B. Japan, China, the Philippines and the qualifiers will be in Group A. Group A features Japan, China, the Philippines and the qualifiers. There will be three qualifiers – Laos, Thailand, and Singapore.
The Korean team will open the group stage on October 1 against Hong Kong. The next day, on October 2, they’ll face Chinese Taipei, and on October 3, they’ll face the winner of the qualifier.
